* We had a successful year at the beach. The first one in too many that the stomach bug didn't strike.
*Both kids learned to ride their bikes without training wheels. I fear that it will bother Cooper later in life, but I'll go ahead and tell you anyway that he was not the first to accomplish this!
*We started our first first grade year. Quite different from kindergarten but I think it's safe to say we all love it!
*Cooper read 100 books.
We saw 100's on spelling tests and homework. Kinda fun, since last year there was never more than a fun smiley face on any of his work.
*Cooper read 200 books.
*At least two people in our family grew taller, somewhere around a combined 8 or 9 inches!
*We had our first campout. I was nice and cool in the air conditioned house and it was in a friend's backyard, but it involved tents so the kids were excited.
*Cooper read 300 books.
*The kids basicaly gave up any chicken (therefore, any meat) that didn't come in a 4-count kids meal at Chick-Fil-A.
*We took the kids to their first Braves game. They were pretty thrilled, but the ball game itself had nothing on running into a friend there and the fireworks after the game.
*We had 3, count 'em, THREE first days of school! No, we didn't adopt a 3rd child. Kendall is attending another area elementary school's Peer Mentoring program in their preschool.
*Cooper read 400 books. Get your name on the board and a visit from the principal for each 100 you read and he's IN.
*We went to DISNEY for the first time!!! We're pretty much ready to go back, try all the things we thought we would do differently and do all our favorite things again.
*Speaking of, we discovered that Kendall has apparently been lying to us when we go to Dollywood and she asks to ride the bigger roller coasters that she isn't tall enough for. The scariest thing she rode at Disney was the Peter Pan ride. Cooper on the other hand...
*Cooper has an overwhelmingly severe love for roller coasters. We found out at Disney that the kid that was questionable on the Veggie Tales coaster at Dollywood loves Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain so much he begged to go back after each time he rode them and he can still tell you about each twist and turn if you ask.
*We petted a hedgehog and a bullfrog and a snake. At church.
*The kids turned into a cartoon character from a favorite movie (Jessie from Toy Story) and year two of a Star Wars character (Boba Fett) respectively, at Halloween.
* They played spring baseball and fall ball and loved every second of it (both of them). This found us seeing our last game where we were lucky enough to have the two kids on the same team in the fall.
*We got a new baby cousin!!!
*We added a couple of trophies to our collection and Kendall got a championship medal for spring baseball!
* They got kissed by more than one princess.
*Cooper went through Jedi Training and earned the right to fight Darth Vader.
* The kids took their second plane ride.
*We watched the Vols win! And. We watched the Vols lose. A lot.
*We hiked, kissed babies, spent 80% of the summer in the pool, drove go-karts, rediscovered a LIKE for chicken, and got caught kissing on the lips at school.
*We flew kites, carved pumpkins, held our first sparkler, played putt-putt, rode water slides, went bowling, and got our teeth cleaned.
