Cooper's Birthday Part III

Yes, there is even more parts than three. We hope to be done with all birthday posts until November very soon (I promise!).
Since the strawberry patch ON Coop's big day was a bust, we met Grammy on Friday and headed down the road for strawberry pickin'. Note the four buckets filled to the brim!
Later on Friday we got a visit from the Knoxville Mayor and prospective Tennessee Govenor, Bill Haslam. Bill and some of his campaign crew met at our house to walk the neighborhood. While Chip had the fun of walking alone and talking to people who didn't even want to answer their doors in the neighborhood next to ours, Cooper, Kendall and I got to walk our streets with Bill. While I thought the kids would give up after a few houses, they walked the entire neighborhood. With about 10 houses left, Kendall turned on her charm and very sweetly asked Bill, "carry me pleeeeeeese" after he finished speaking to each of our neighbors. His arms were surely sore the next day. With about 3 houses left, the kids were officially done campaigning and were begging for lemonade back at our house at the Meet&Greet we held in our front yard.

My newfound love for Photoshop couldn't help me with these photos, but you get the idea. What was cropped out was Cooper's big, long "lemonade" sign he made to go on the front of the table. It was a great afternoon. The kids were tired at the end, but luckily Drew came over and perked them up. We appreciated Bill including our neighborhood in his walk across the state! If you live in Tennessee and don't know about Bill, you can learn more about him at www.billhaslam.com. For the record, he's a very, very nice man with a lovely wife and was incredibly patient with our kids the entire afternoon.
