2 in the Car

I don't know exactly why, and some of you may think me certifiably nuts, but I got REALLY excited yesterday morning. For the first time in 2 1/2 years, I had two children (my own children, Kori and Kali don't count!!) in my car wearing underwear!! What a milestone that was to me. Since Cooper's potty training was, well, less than quickly successful, I never thought I would actually potty train again. I think I assumed we would just wake up one day and Kendall would tell us she wanted to go potty and that would be the end (this method probably would have taken until the day before she started kindergarten, but inside my head, it was working)!

As if normal for the past week, Kendall went potty when she got up from bed and then I went to put a pull-up on her. She became so stubborn, you probably heard the rattle of my china wherever you live when she put her foot down. There was NO pull-ups to be had on Thursday morning. Period. End of story.

So anyway, Kendall wore big-girl underwear yesterday. Not sure what today holds...I'm kinda hoping for a pull-up because I have a tennis match and Mimi and Grandad are keeping her later today also...so Centre Court Racquet Club and her grandparents would probably really like for me to put her in something more absorbant than Dora the Explorer underwear.

No pictures for this post. I prefer not to be hounded by the Department of Children's Services.

Side note: If you're in the East Tennessee area, find time to come out to the BBQ Bash in Alcoa this weekend. Chip and I (mostly Chip, apparently smoking BBQ is a boy's thing) are helping great friend Kevin Painter at his BBQ booth where all proceeds will benefit the Blount County Food Connection. If you're out, look for the Capitalist Pigs booth! Greatest fries this side of the Mississippi!
