Princesses, Monsters and Friends

A couple of weeks ago we made the decision to split up for a Saturday night. Chip, Cooper and lots of friends went to the Monster Jam in Knoxville while Kendall and I joined girlfriends and babies for dinner and a tea party! The week before, the deadline was approaching to buy tickets. Chip and I made the joint decision to not go as a family. We thought the noise would be too much for Princess Kendall. The next night, Kendall pitched a fit of all fits that included several statements that sounded much the same..."But I want to go to Monster Jam with Daddy and Cooper!!" I shared this story with Miss Joy and naturally, as she is pretty awesome, Kendall had a very special invitation to a Princess Tea Party at Baby Caroline's house.

I think everyone could hear the tears that feel from Coach Summit's face as her coveted court was covered in burning rubber.
Cooper, Price, Drew and Ty... naturally no one is smiling and/or looking at the camera (except Ty, thanks Buddy!).

He screams at the top of his lungs at the mention of wearing earplugs for swim lessons. Take him to Monster Jam, though, and it's not quite that awful.
The Princess gets her nails done!

Miss Joy set the table for a beautiful tea party! We used Baby C's musical pot and the special tea set Aunt Kara gave Kendall for her first birthday.
K and C got to take a bath together and Baby C was quite happy about it! Love those gorgeous eyes!
The Princess and her tutu, of course! Please take note of the curled hair, to boot. A promise to curl her hair and paint her nails was what got her to stop crying when she realized she wasn't going to Monster Jam.

Good Night, Sleep Tight!

A few nights ago, Kendall found some pajamas at the very, very bottom of her PJ drawer. With her dazzling, I'll-wrap-you-around-my-finger eyelashes, she convinced Daddy to let her wear them to bed. Cooper quickly wanted to follow. The trouble, you ask? Cooper's have all been given away! However, we found some in the tub in his closet labeled "give away." Luckily, b/c he may have ended up in some pink footie pajamas otherwise! This is what it looks like when your 3 and 4 year olds squeeze themselves into clothes made for 2 year olds!

Look at that attitude!
If they had flexed any harder, I'm sure we would have had some serious wardrobe malfunctions.

Good Night! Sleep Tight (literally!)!

Snowed In

For any more snow that may be headed our way this winter, I have two words: Go. Away. A few snow-filled weekends might be more tolerable if we didn't have weeks of rain, clouds, freezing temps and absolutely no rays of sunshine inbetween. A couple of weeks ago found the local news predicting "Another Blizzard of '93?" in the headlines. The worst part? We were legitemately out of milk and bread. Not a scrap left in the house! Since we had just had a snow day a few weeks prior, our kids were not very excited about this snow. Kendall and I took a walk in the snow as it began to fall, but otherwise our total snow play-time was about 20 minutes. The rest of the weekend found us bored to tears. We had to get creative to fill the time.
Instead of muddin, we've got snowin'

I'm okay with Cooper's quest to be a kicker!

Our new favorite game is Dr. Suess's Cat in the Hat game. You draw 3 cards that tell you to do 3 different things: Here, Cooper is tip-toeing around the Trick-A-Ma-Stick, with the boat, under his chin.
Kendall takes 3 giant steps, with the ball, on her head!
Cooper makes his own rules: See how many objects you can put on your head!
Slide under the trick-a-ma-stick, with the cake, between your knees!

A FORCE to be Reckoned With

The Webster's Dictionary definition of "bursting" is: "To come apart or seem to come apart because of overwhelming emotion." I now understand where the phrase "bursting with pride" comes from. Last weekend in Atlanta, we were simply excited to see Kori compete for the first time. We had not so much as seen her more than tumble in her front yard before last weekend (I am not proud of that, fyi!). We felt like a good aunt and uncle just to be driving down and spending time with her. I was nervous and excited to see her perform, not really knowing what to expect. Unfortunately, Saturday was not the CFO Predator's finest hour (or...2 1/2 minutes). However, the bursting with pride part comes later on Sunday, when those girls fought through injuries, nerves and fear to prove to themselves just how awesome they really are. I was so sad to leave before seeing them compete at their best, but so happy to see videos, pictures and hear stories from Sunday.

Kori, far left.
Kori brought Kendall her very own CFO bow. Her first of this size, in case you were wondering! Since we swam through naptime on Friday and Saturday, she was pretty much D-O-N-E by the competition's end.
The Webbs, sporting their Cheer Force One attire!
Kori Lee, we love you and are more proud of you than you could ever imagine!

A Cure for Cabin Fever

It's been a long, cold winter so far in our neck of the woods. And I don't like it one bit. I'm tired of snow. I'm tired of rain. I'm tired of cloudy, dreary days and I want to remember what the sunshine looks and feels like. In order to avoid yet another weekend of rain, cold, laundry and all around boredom, the Webb family packed up and headed south. Not south enough to be warm or anywhere near sunshine, but south enough to enjoy some quality time with Kori and Kara during Kori's cheerleading competition in Atlanta. It wasn't easy finding a hotel within walking distance, mainly because this is the largest annual sporting event in the entire country. However, we got lucky and found the Westin. The kids would say their favorite part was the indoor pool, the elevator, the view of downtown Atlanta, the fact that our hotel was round... Mommy and Daddy would no doubt disagree and say the absolutely best part is the famous Westin Heavenly mattress. Can someone tell me where to find $3700 so I can buy one of those things?! If our kids had slept past 7AM, it would have been the best nights sleep ever!
I think it worked out well that the Westin didn't have a room with double beds. Our kids have the classic "must jump on hotel bed" syndrome when given the chance.
I think they must have been saying "Going to IKEA is SOOOO much fun!!!!"
Silly Faces in the Georgia Dome for the So You Think You Can Tumble competition on Friday night.
We rode an escalator absolutely no fewer than 165 times last weekend. Luckily, Kendall didn't really notice when her pants got stuck in the escalator and Mommy almost fainted from fear.
The kids were a little disappointed that it was too cold to play in the fountains. They did, however, enjoy watching "the funny man" run through them at 9PM with all of his clothes on (luckily) while the Little Mermaid's "Under the Sea" was playing over the Centennial Olympic Park speakers.

We decided not to tell the kids that we were on our way to see Kara and Kori. We aren't great at keeping secrets, but this one was well worth it! Here, they have no clue why we're standing around doing nothing. We told them we were trying to figure out where to eat dinner! Up until this point, they thought we had travelled 3 hours to swim in the hotel pool all weekend.

Apologies for our incredible absence from the blogosphere lately. Please see all notations of dreary, boring, cold days. However, we're looking forward to blogging about Cheer Force One, Daddy's birthday and yet another snowy weekend.
